Trevor Thomas
Trevor Thomas is a Principal Adviser in the Personal and Retirement Income Division of the Australian Treasury. He has a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Queensland and has had over thirty years experience working on financial system issues for the Australian Government. This has included the provision of policy advice and the preparation of legislation affecting the general insurance, life insurance and superannuation industries while working in the Treasury, the Insurance and Superannuation Commission and the Australian Taxation Office.
At present Trevor is responsible for providing policy advice to Government on a range of superannuation issues. Most recently Trevor has been advising the Government on the implementation of a number of its election commitments and on superannuation issues arising from the Henry review of the taxation system and the Cooper review into the governance, efficiency, structure and operation of the superannuation industry.
